Discussion Group for The New Yorker Magazine.
"Pulling The New Yorker out of the mailbox every week
is like getting a bouquet of civilization."
It's a book club for devoted readers of The New Yorker magazine.
Based in the Washington, DC area, TalkTNY, the New Yorker magazine reading group, gathers at a cafe or coffee shop to talk about recent articles and cartoons in the magazine. We usually have between 8 to 12 pieces chosen to be read in advance, along with discussion questions.
Meetings are held every other week, usually on Saturday afternoons.
"Week after week, The New Yorker offers its community of dedicated readers a unique perspective on current ideas and evolving issues: one that combines humor and intelligence with depth and style. Readers come to its pages to laugh, to be informed, to be surprised, to be moved."
